Tuesday March 10,2009 Was the full Moon. The water temp was 72* warm enough for Big Specks to spawn so I headed to one of my favorite spawning areas. Using a purple topwater I caught a 2# fish on my second cast. Then three casts later I felt a welcome tug on the rod and the battle was on. The fish stayed down and I thought maybe a redfish had taken the bait but after several drag pulling runs on my 14# test Fireline I saw a nice Tout show herself. My usual net was far too small and I had to gab my monster net I keep onboard for just such occasions.  I was all alone so it was up to me to slide her into the net. Once I had her in the boat I took a deep breath and breathed a sigh of relief. It was a nice fish , 7# 7ozs and after I weighed her I took some quick Pics and let her go to get bigger. I was alone so the Pic is no cover shot but still a nice memory of my biggest trout so far.
