Milton, Jim, & Jeff from Houston joined Captain for 2 great days of Fishing and Fun. Gulp and their substantial fishing experience provided the tools to catch 76 Trout, 12 Reds & 3 Flounder over their 2 day excursion! We were challenged by the first major cold front, wind & hours of rain but these guys were serious about their fishing and nothing was going to stop them from loading the cooler!

Friday Oct. 3, 2008 It was a 50th Birthday to remember. We only had a few fish in the cooler and the wind was low when we moved out to some near rigs. We started Hauling in 5# reds (Not allowed to keep them in federal waters over 3 miles out) and a few more trout we saw some mullet schooled up on the side of the rig. Rodney cast a Natural Gulp into the mullet a Bang the Fish was on! It was a 45 minute battle on 14# test Fireline. Ihad the fish 1/2 in the net twice and finally the third time was the charm and the 40″ 27 lb Cobia was ours! It was a Great Birthday present for a great crew!

Thursday October 2, 2008. This was Walley C of Houston’s second trip this season. We started with a bang. Reds & Trout were popping the surface and these guys had me hopping on the net. After the first hour frenzy slowed we moved and picked up 3 nice flounder and chased some birds to finish off a nice cooler and a great day on Lake Calcasieu.

Tuesday October 1, 2008 Howard L. &Â Friends from Houston found the fish biting at every stop we tried. Gulp on the bottom for Reds and gulp curley tails under a cork for trout. They enjoyed it so much they are comming back next week! Thanks Guys!
